Megan + Trampoline =...

...a trip to the ER! Fortunately, she did not fall off of the trampoline. She just fell while jumping and not realizing that she could bounce on her rear, tried to catch herself. She's usually a tough little thing, but was cradling her arm all evening and crying everytime the arm got moved, so we decided to get it checked out. The x-rays of her wrist and elbow didn't show anything, so they splinted it and now we'll go see an orthopedic surgeon. We are not the kind of family that heads to the ER for every little thing, but it's a good thing we went because she would not have gotten any sleep last night otherwise. She was a different person once the splint went on.

I'll post an update once we know more.

***Update***
Megan's arm is still in the splint. We had to get a referral from her primary care doctor in order to see the pediatric orthopedic guy...you know the drill. Anyway, the first available appt. with the ortho isn't until next Wed! I'm really wishing we had Kaiser right now. I know some people don't like them, but I never had any trouble with them back in the day. Anyway, Megan's adjusting to having this "thing" on her arm. We survived her first bathtime and she slept well, so things are looking up! I'll update again after her appointment.

She did it!

Woo Hoo!!! Megan successfully used the potty tonight! She's been toying with the whole process for awhile, but it never amounted to anything until tonight...let the games begin!

Art Day

Megan decided that she wanted to paint today. Fair enough...little did I know that she'd end up asking to fingerpaint! A miracle since she's not into getting her hands gooey/dirty. She did look down at her hands and squeeze them into fists with a decidedly unsure look on her face, then look at my hands which weren't much better and start laughing.

The pictures aren't in order. The one with the sun (yes, I did that) came first with the brushes, and can I state for the record that I HATE washable paints? The colors are horrendous...at least the washable fingerpaints make an attempt at being the color that they're supposed to be. The creative side of me is ready to pitch them and invest in the more expensive, stain-making colorful stuff! Michaels...here I come!

French Braids

Check out my first attempt at french braiding Megan's hair! Not bad, considering she was a moving target! So cute...
